IAR Systems is making available a certified edition of its development toolchain for RISC-V.
The functional safety edition of IAR Embedded Workbench for RISC-V is certified by TÃV SÃD according to the requirements of IEC 61508, the international umbrella standard for functional safety, as well as ISO 26262, which is used for automotive safety-related systems.
The certification covers the international standard IEC 62304, which specifies life cycle requirements for the development of medical software and software within medical devices, and the European railway standards EN 50128 and EN 50657. Also covered are IEC 60730 for Household Appliances, ISO 13849 and IEC 62061 for Machinery Control Systems, IEC 61511 for Process Industry and ISO 25119 for Agriculture and Forestry.

SLAMcore offers âout-of-the-boxâ robot navigation SLAMcore, a specialist in Spatial Intelligence for autonomous robot location and mapping, has added new dense 2.5D mapping capabilities to its latest software release.
Robots require maps of their surroundings and the objects within it to navigate effectively - these maps can include point clouds, 2D flat maps, 2.5D dense maps (with heights), 3D maps and semantic maps which identify objects (people/tables/chairs/windows etc).
One of the main challenges of robot mapping is that it requires significant compute power, processing time and memory to create these maps. In response, SLAMcore has developed software that uses stereo cameras and inertial sensors to build 2.5D height maps in real-time. The occupied space is represented as a series of columns of different heights which show what space is filled. Using these rich 2.5D maps, robots and autonomous devices know where objects are and can safely p
CEVA Bluebud - DSP-enabled Bluetooth Audio IP Platform for TWS Earbuds and Wearables
All Silicon IP
Overview
Bluebud™ is a unique self-contained, feature-rich IP platform to streamline the development of True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds and other advanced wireless audio devices including headsets, speakers, smartwatches and smart glasses. It is a unique, pre-integrated hardware and software solution built around the popular and proven RivieraWaves™ Bluetooth IP and CEVA-BX1 audio processor, together with all the required peripherals for wireless audio, in a compact low power design. Bluebud offers a simplified design architecture by using a single CEVA-BX1 processor with advanced DSP and control capabilities, that is far easier to embed into an SoC compared to alternative architectures using multiple (2-4) heterogeneous processing cores.
IAR Systems introduces support for 64-bit Arm cores IAR Systems has announced that its C/C++ development toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm is now able to support 64-bit Arm cores including Arm Cortex-A35, Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A55.
At a time when more applications are being based on 64-bit cores, specifically within low-power applications, deeply embedded and handheld devices, the Embedded Workbench provides customers with diverse microcontroller support as well as adapted licensing options to fit different organisations needs
By supporting leading-edge designs needing the performance from 64-bit Arm cores, IAR Systems can enable its customers to make use of the toolchainâs optimisation technology also for 64-bit devices. In addition, integrated code analysis tools ensure code quality, and for simplified functional safety certification, a pre-certified version of the toolchain is available.
