8 indicted in alcohol-related death after fraternity party

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) Eight people have been indicted in the alcohol-related death of an Ohio college student who was found unconscious after a fraternity party, prosecutors said Thursday.
A grand jury indicted the eight on charges ranging from involuntary manslaughter to hazing.
Stone Foltz, 20, died three days after he and other fraternity pledges at Bowling Green State University were each given and encouraged to finish an entire bottle of alcohol at the March 4 off-campus party, university officials have said.
Foltz, a business major from Delaware, Ohio, was found unconscious by a roommate after members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity dropped him off at his apartment, according to an attorney for Foltz’s parents. He was put on life support and died after his family arranged for his organs to be donated.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG/FOX19) - Several individuals are now facing indictments in the death of Bowling Green State University sophomore Stone Foltz back in March. According to the Wood County Prosecutor, at least eight people now face charges ranging from first-degree felony manslaughter to reckless homicide and hazing to obstructing official business, but prosecutor Paul Dodson said that other charges could still come as a result of the investigation.
Speaking at a press conference Thursday afternoon, Dodson described the events leading up to Stone’s death as a new member initiation where mentors or Bigs are revealed to new members or Littles. Littles, who were almost all underage, were then allegedly given a 750ml often referred to as a fifth of high alcohol content liquor and instructed to drink the entire thing at the event. Stone allegedly consumed all, or nearly all, of his bottle.
