Journey to the Savage Planet Broken on Google Stadia With No Fix in Sight
A bug has made
Journey to the Savage Planet unplayable on Google Stadia. The issue was brought up on Reddit by user Lordubuntu after discovering that the game freezes on its home screen. Google referred the poster to 505 Games, but the publisher stated they can t do anything to fix the game because Google owns the code and data for the Stadia version. Complicating matters, Google dissolved Stadia Games & Entertainment earlier this month, including
Savage Planet developer Typhoon Studios. What that means is there s basically no one left to fix the game on the platform, leaving users out of luck.
Google Stadia Patches Journey to the Savage Planet After Fan Outcry
Journey to the Savage Planet on their service. Some of the fans discovered developers were struggling to fix the bugs in their games due to layoffs. In a new report from The Verge, the people at Typhon Studios were trying to make
Journey to the Saavage Planet work on the platform again. Users were reporting general bugs, crashes, freezing, and other complications in the game Google stepped in and managed to get things back on track. Adding fuel to the fire surrounding this situation is the fact that Stadia is cloud-based, so it wasn t like anyone could go into the game’s files and find a solution for themselves. Google brought the developers into the fold at the tail end of 2019. But, more importantly, their game is one of the only titles that comes along with a Stadia Pro subscription at purchase. So, this a title that a huge percentage of the player base wanted to get fixed.
Apart from the sacking of about 150 developers, the throttling of Google Stadia has left a ton of early adopters well and truly in the lurch. Stadia was maligned from the start, and if the latest experience of Stadia users is any indication, it’s sure as hell not leaving a positive impression on the way out.
