Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests are often seen as the gold standard test for identifying clinical cases of infection because it requires laboratory analysis. The PCR is a diagnostic test that detects the virus’s RNA (genetic material) in a sample taken from a nose and throat swab.

To help support these families, Baylor Scott & White Health (BSW) is offering free virtual programs through its Research Institute to help families across Texas improve their support for loved ones with dementia.  Through the Baylor Scott and White Online Caregiver Study, researchers are using these programs to develop and test different ways of supporting dementia caregivers.
