NEW DELHI: Boeing will fund setting up field hospitals “as soon as possible” in some states, as part of its $10-million emergency assistance package for India to help fight the pandemic surge here. In the last 2-3 days Boeing India has reached out to states and it is learnt to have so far identified UP, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu for now.
States will give land where the American aerospace giant will “quickly fund building of base hospital and equipping them with emergency facilities.” NGOs like Doctors For You and Care USA will help arrange medical staff doctors, nurses and paramedics. Boeing is also identifying NGO partners to help set up the field hospitals at the earliest.
