Already 1500 Volunteers Listed 01/21/21
Nearly 1,500 young people have already expressed interest in volunteering at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama (7 – 17 July 2022). This number was given by Nick Sellers, CEO of the Birmingham Organising Committee, during last week s Coordination Committee Meeting (CoCom).
During the three-hour meeting, the representatives of the Birmingham Organising Committee (BOC) gave a comprehensive overview of preparations for the Games next year. It was the first joint meeting of the year leading up to the Games. In a joint exchange, representatives from the BOC and IWGA set milestones for this year.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the World Games 2022 will feature original music from Henry Panion, one of Alabama’s most accomplished and decorated composers.
The Birmingham Organizing Committee announced Monday that Panion has joined the 2022 Games as artistic director of the opening and closing ceremonies. Panion is University Professor of Music and Director of Music Technology at UAB, where he teaches courses in music theory and technology. He owns Audiostate 55 Recording Studios & Entertainment Co. in Birmingham.
Panion will create the entire musical score for the games’ opening and closing ceremonies, write and produce all the original music that will be featured, conduct the orchestra performing the music and collaborate with all major recording artists who participate in the ceremonies. Panion will write and produce an original World Games 2022 theme song.

The Birmingham Organizing Committee yesterday announced that Henry Panion III, Ph.D., has joined The World Games 2022 as Artistic Director of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, to be held 7 and 17 July 2022. Dr. Panion holds the titles of University Professor of Music and Director of Music Technology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he teaches courses in music theory and technology. He’s also the owner of Audiostate 55 Recording Studios & Entertainment Company.
