Student joins hospital fundraiser FacebookTwitterEmail Raegan Krumboltz of Beardstown was among more than 1,400 University of Iowa students who participated in the 27th annual student-led Dance Marathon. The event raised $1,422,443.27 for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, bringing the marathon’s total support over the years to more $31 million. Funds are used to provide emotional and financial support to those treated at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, with an emphasis on pediatric cancer and bone marrow transplant patients. Dance Marathon’s “Big Event” is the celebration of UI students’ year-round dedication to the children and families who have received treatment at the hospital. Participants raise funds all year to reach their individual fundraising goal.
