17:59 EDT, 12 December 2020 25 shares A teenager has been arrested after an 89-year-old Swedish academic was found dead after a fire at her home. Police forensic teams and fire investigators with dogs examined the badly burned home of the victim named locally as Vera Croghan today. Her body was found by firefighters called to deal with a blaze just before 7am today at her £750,000 Edwardian semi-detached home in Unthank Road, Norwich.  Norfolk Police said an elderly woman was declared dead at the scene and her death was currently being treated as unexplained . News UK COVID-19 cases are rising in three regions of England including London a week after the country left lockdown. The highest rate is in London, which stood at 191.8 cases per 100,000 people in the week to December 6, up from 158.1 in the previous week. In Eastern England the rate has risen from 116.2 to 147.2, while in south-east England the rate has increased from 142.2 to 160.8. Kent, which locals initially reacted angrily to being put under Tier 3, is now one of the worst-hit areas of the country. All areas of the county are recording rises in infection rates, with Swale recording one of the highest in the country at 620 cases per 100,000.
