He says the college’s diversity drew him to the school.
“Holy Cross brings so many different experiences to the table and it allows for students to learn from other people and things,” he says.
But the way the school achieves that diversity may be in jeopardy.
The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments this month for a case that challenges the use of race in the admissions programs at public colleges and universities.
“What is at issue is if whether the University of Texas admission procedures which includes the consideration of race as a factor that violates the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment,” says Amanda Baer, attorney for Mirick O’Connell.
