Johannesburg - Khusela Diko, the spokesperson for President Cyril Ramaphosa who was put on ice after her late husband, Inkosi Thandisizwe Diko, corruptly scored a Covid-19 PPE tender has challenged the ANC in Gauteng, saying she cannot be forced to step aside.
Through her lawyers, Diko said there is nowhere in the ANC constitution where it says senior members must disclose the business interests of their spouses. As such, the Povincial Disciplinary Committee (PDC) erred in finding her guilty and paving the path for her to be told to step aside.

As firefighters continue to monitor the slopes of Table Mountain for flare-ups and to fight the pockets of fire that are still actively burning, a lot of questions are being asked about what could and should have been done to prevent the blaze.
While thankfully no lives were lost, and injuries were limited to a handful of firefighters, there has been a catastrophic loss in terms of cultural and academic heritage. “Let it burn to the ground.”
This remark, posted on Twitter by a user claiming to be a student representative council secretary-general at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), is being investigated by the university. This was announced by UWC council chairperson Yasmin Forbes on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect made the remark amid the runaway fires that destroyed some of the historic buildings at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and other iconic sites in Cape Town.
It is believed that the fire started near Rhodes Memorial, on the northern flank of Table Mountain, on Sunday morning.
SAFA National Women’s League kicks off this weekend
19 April 2021 – The second edition of the SAFA National Women’s League will kick off this coming weekend, 24 April 2021, after last year’s tournament did not take place due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Women’s League that proved a runaway success was launched in 2019 with 12 teams participating in the inaugural season. This season however, will consist of 14 teams following the promotion of 2019 Sasol League National champions JVW from Gauteng and runners up Ma-Indies Ladies from Limpopo.
