Universities see sharp rise in applicants from abroad

Universities see sharp rise in applicants from abroad Eight out of 10 Norwegian universities are experiencing strong growth in the number of applicants from abroad, with demand at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) rising as much as 184% for international programmes. While OsloMet had 1,454 applicants last year for studies in international social welfare and health policy, international education and development, and applied computer and information technology, this year’s figure is 4,134, a growth of 184%, according to figures revealed by Khrono. Other universities are also experiencing a noticeably increased interest from abroad. “We have received a startlingly large increase in international applicants for masters studies,” Pro-Rector for Education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) Marit Reitan noted.

Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia remain Unsullied

“Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia remain Unsullied” 8 HOURS AGO Behind what appears to be a fair call by concerned citizens for Government to fix certain aspects of the economy is what appears to be a sinister attempt to launch a vicious attack on the hard-earned reputation and legacy of President Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The plot is so turbid that an honest attempt, which is a citizen s right, to explain how the duo have done their best to fix large portions of a broken system they inherited and what they are doing now to alleviate the plight of citizens following the covid 19 pandemic is unfortunately misinterpreted as “shameless hypocrisy”.

Low rotational Inertia Systems and Grid Friendly Power Electronic Converter

About this Event Abstract The total system inertia (H) is the primary source of electricity system robustness to frequency disturbances. The traditional large synchronous generators directly connected to the grid are the primary sources of inertia, and they play a crucial role in limiting the rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) and provide a natural response to the system frequency changes following an unscheduled loss of generation or demand from the power system. The transition to a low carbon society is the driving force pushing the traditional power system to increase the volume of non-synchronous technologies, which mainly use power converters (PCs) as an interface to the power network. The PCs decoupled the primary source from the power network; therefore, they are not able to contribute with “natural” inertia in the same way as classical synchronous generators. During a system frequency disturbance (SFD), the system frequency will change at a rate initially det

America s domestic political turmoil is making world unstable & fueling conflicts with its main adversaries - Iran, China & Russia -- Puppet Masters -- Sott net

The White House.America s internal political battles have smothered consensus and led to Washington being asleep at the wheel in foreign affairs for many years now. The lack of US strategic clarity only fuels uncertainty and instability globally. The Afghanistan Papers, published by the Washington Post in 2019, revealed that the US has for many years been aware that it cannot win the war in Afghanistan, yet it has been reluctant to accept defeat and withdraw. US policy has been defined in indecisiveness, as neither victory or defeat has been an option. The continued waste of money and blood has merely resulted in a corrupt government in Kabul dependent on the influx of US funding, a hardened and militarized opposition, and neighbouring states frustrated with the unpredictability of the enduring US presence.

Will Russia attack Ukraine?

Will Russia attack Ukraine? Al Jazeera English Concerns are growing of a possible war between Russia and Ukraine. Kyiv and Moscow have been in dispute since 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea and backed separatists fighting government troops in eastern Ukraine. There had been a relative stalemate in fighting but the situation is now on the brink of a major escalation. Kyiv has expelled a Russian diplomat in response to a similar move by Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin is beefing up his nation’s naval presence in the Black Sea. The international community is alarmed. So, what has prompted the heightened tension and how much of a threat is it to Ukraine’s unity?
