The South Dakota Beef Industry Council’s Build Your Base with Beef Program has gone national and enlisted a professional athletic endorsement. Former University of South Dakota and now U.S. pole vault champion Chris Nilsen backs the program because nutrition and beef are key to his training regime.
According to Nilsen his coach Derek Miles turned him on to beef as part of a healthy sports nutrition program and its improved his performance.
He says beef is a nutrient dense whole protein that also helps with muscle recovery after practice or a meet.

When the pandemic lockdown hit the United States in March, an old friend (who attended elite private schools his whole life) called and quipped, the home school revolution is finally taking off!
On Twitter a few days later, I saw some conservatives positing that more Americans will keep home-schooling after the pandemic and that the coronavirus will body-slam public schools. That s the long-held dream of some home school communities. And it s the new nightmare of atheists, leftists and public school loyalists.

Paul Ortiz, director of UF s oral history program, said the effort will take about two years and will increase accessibility to thousands of important cultural records by updating transcripts and creating high quality audio recordings and photos for online use. Digitizing and transcribing these precious oral histories and being able to place them on the University of Florida Digital Collections Library will make these interviews available to a much larger group of people, he said. Most Americans believe that Native Americans in the Southeast vanished or just disappeared. These interviews are testaments to the survival and success of Native Americans in the South.
