University of Nebraska System President Ted Carter, together with three other public Midwestern university leaders, have announced a commitment to a new, first-of-its-kind academic alliance in support of the research and workforce needs of U.S. Space Command.
Carter – joined by Purdue University President Mitch Daniels, North Dakota University System Chancellor Mark Hagerott and Kansas State University President Richard Myers – touted the effort as a uniquely powerful draw for the Midwest as Nebraska seeks to become U.S. Space Command’s permanent home. Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue is one of six finalist sites currently under consideration by the Department of the Air Force.

OPPD, UNO Announce New Academic Partnership

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) launched an innovative partnership that will help bring qualifying full-time employees closer to undergraduate and graduate degrees.
This partnership provides access to UNO’s full array of academic degree programs that are offered through flexible course delivery via on campus, online and remote classrooms.
