Dear Mr President, The world has welcomed your election and commitment to restore diplomatic engagement with the international community to the center of US foreign policy. By rallying governments to create the conditions for an equitable and environmentally sustainable global economic recovery, your leadership can encourage transformative changes. For too long, international institutions have failed to deal with one of the most toxic aspects of globalisation: tax avoidance and evasion by multinational corporations. Fair taxation of multinationals is needed to create the type of societies that we aspire to, and it must be a central part of any progressive tax system aimed at driving economic growth and creating high living standards for all. UMass Amherst Community Campaign Raises $452,000 To Support Local Nonprofits

Over half of the money raised will go to Western Mass nonprofits March 2, 2021 AMHERST, Mass. ­– The University of Massachusetts Amherst faculty, staff and retirees generously donated a remarkable $452,830 to nonprofit organizations through the 2020-21 UMass Amherst Community Campaign (UMACC). There were 551 individual donors to the campaign and nearly $300,000 of the funds raised will go to Western Mass nonprofits with just over $200,000 staying in Hampshire County. “When the pandemic hit, we had no idea of how it would affect UMACC. That we raised $452,000 is an outstanding accomplishment that reflects the strength of our community.” said Barbara Krauthamer, dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts and campaign co-chair.
