The Lahore police have registered cases against 500 students after their protest outside the University of Central Punjab turned violent on Tuesday. The FIRs were registered on the basis of the statement of the varsity’s Chief Security Officer Naveed Mukhtar by the Nawab Town police. Mukhtar said that the university administration requested the students to call off the protest. At 2pm, the students were incited by a man identified as Zubair Siddiqui and they attacked all the gates of the campus. The protesters held the security guards hostage, broke the windows, and vandalised the furniture at the university, some students entered the campus by climbing the walls near the hoste.

Protests against on-campus exams turned violent in the provincial capital as police allegedly baton-charged students on Tuesday outside a university.
The students held demonstrations and demanded that online examinations be conducted amid rising cases of the coronavirus disease in the metropolis.
The condition of a student of the University of Central Punjab, identified as Shah Jahan, was reportedly serious after he was injured in the baton-charge. He was taken to Jinnah Hospital, while some other students also sustained serious injuries during the protest.

LAHORE: The province-wide protests by students against on-campus examinations on Tuesday took an ugly turn as several students were baton-charged and injured by the security guards of a private university in the provincial capital.
The students – two of them said to be critical – were hospitalised.
Hundreds of students of various educational institutes of the city under the slogans of “Justice for the Students” had been protesting for the last two weeks against the decision to conduct on-campus examinations.

LAHORE, Pakistan: Students of various Private Educational Institutions continued their protest on Tuesday in various Cities of Punjab to press their demand for the physical exam; however as the situation turned violent, one student was killed in the unrest while seven reportedly sustained injuries.
Reportedly a student named Shah Jahan died when students’ protest resulted in violent clashes between the students and guards of a Private Educational Institution in Lahore.
Students of the University of Management & Technology (UMT), the University of Central Punjab (UCP), and the University of Lahore again held a strong protest outside the Premises of their respective Institutions in Lahore today.

Police in Lahore baton-charged and detained dozens of students in a bid to disperse them from outside the University of Central Punjab (UCP), where they were protesting against the latter’s decision to conduct on-campus exams.
Students have been staging protests outside the campus for the last two days in favour of online exams, saying that their classes were also held online as the educational institutions remained closed due to coronavirus pandemic throughout the year.
