Baylor scientist named co-editor-in-chief of Dystonia

, associate professor of pathology and immunology and neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine, has been named Co-Editor-in-Chief of newly launched Dystonia, a Gold Open Access medical journal focused on bringing visibility to the growing dystonia field and highlighting advancements in science and clinical practice. The journal is being launched by the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) in partnership with Frontiers. “Breakthroughs are being made in basic, clinical, and translational research,” said Sillitoe, who is also Director of the Neuropathology Core Laboratory at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital and the Co-Director of the Development, Disease Models & Therapeutics Graduate Program at Baylor College of Medicine. “It is an exciting time for the field, and the journal will support the momentum going forward.”

Local man injured in rollover crash

Local man injured in rollover crash Ashland Times Gazette VERMILLION TWP. Hayesville Fire Department and EMS, Ashland Post of the State Highway Patrol and the Ashland County Sheriff s Office responded Saturday to a single-vehicle rollover crash in the 2000 block of state Route 179. According to the State Highway Patrol, a 2008 black Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a Loudonville man was traveling northbound on state Route 179 when it traveled off the left side of the road in between a mailbox and pole, striking an old tree stump, going airborne and rolling over into a barn. The man was entrapped in his vehicle but managed to get out by himself. He was taken by Hayesville EMS to University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center with unknown injuries and was cited for failure to control. The crash remains under investigation.
