Black History Month Celebration Begins

The celebration includes a lineup of incredible and thought-provoking speakers, an esports tournament, music, art exhibition and other events. The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents will honor the recipients of the 13 th annual Regents’ Diversity Awards on February 5 in Madison at the next Regents meeting. These awards recognize individuals and programs that foster access and success for students who are members of historically underrepresented populations. ESU announces Drexel professor as Black History Month keynote speaker STAFF REPORTS His address, “We Goin Ultra Black: Overcoming Internalized Racism & Developing a Positive Cultural Identity”, will be delivered via Zoom, on at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17. The event is free and open to the public. Hall is an assistant professor of urban teacher education. His teaching and research interests include urban teacher education and development, social justice-oriented approaches to secondary English education, hip-hop pedagogy, anti-Black educational policy and practice, and critical qualitative research. Hall has facilitated numerous professional and personal development workshops on anti-racist practice in public and independent K-12 schools, colleges/universities, and community-based organizations across the Delaware Valley.
