WASHINGTON – The State Department is advising Americans to reconsider any travel they may have planned to Israel and the Palestinian territories due to increasing Israeli-Palestinian violence.
In a notice issued Thursday, the department raised its travel advisory for Israel, the West Bank and Gaza to Level 3 â âreconsider travel.â It had previously been at Level 2, which recommends travelers âexercise increased caution.â
The revised alert cited continuing rocket fire from Gaza into areas across southern and central Israel, including Jerusalem, Israelâs military response to the attacks and a âmarked increaseâ in violence and protests throughout Israel.
âProtests and violence may continue to occur, some with little or no warning,â it said.

RIYADH - Muslims around the world marked a sombre Eid al-Fitr on Thursday amid rising hostilities between Israel and Palestinians, in the second celebration in the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic.
The three-day festival, which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, is traditionally celebrated with mosque prayers, family feasts and shopping for new clothes, gifts and sweets.
