Saudi Arabia commits $500 million loan to Pakistan Web Desk
LAHORE: Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing funds worth $500 million (Rs75.5 billion) will help develop infrastructure, hydropower projects and water resources in Pakistan.
During a meeting with a delegation of women entrepreneurs, led by Dr Ayesha Tahir, Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Iftikhar Ali Malik highlighted that under one of the seven MoUs signed between the two countries, Saudi Arabia would finance energy, infrastructure, water, transportation and communication projects in Pakistan.
He said as a result of successful visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Saudi Arabia had decided to allocate a major chunk for hiring 10 million workers from Pakistan over the next 10 years in light of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
RIYADH: King Salman said Saudi Arabia condemned Israel’s actions in Jerusalem and the acts of violence committed by Israeli forces at Al-Aqsa mosque.
His comments came during a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday to discuss the Israeli attacks in Jerusalem, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
King Salman said the Kingdom stands by the Palestinian people in order to obtain their legitimate rights.
During the call, Khan extended greetings to the king on the advent of Eid Al-Fitr, which starts on Thursday. The king thanked the premier and reciprocated the sentiments.
They also discussed the “distinguished relations between their two countries, and reviewed the latest regional and international developments.”

Veena Malik, an actress who has starred in over a dozen Pakistani and Bollywood films and shows, tweeted a series of incendiary remarks about the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict, including a quote she attributed to Adolf Hitler about killing Jews.
“I would have killed all the Jews of the world … but I kept some to show the world why I killed them,” Malik tweeted Tuesday.
She also tweeted “#IronDome is doomed” with a laughing emoji, referencing Israel’s missile defense system, which Palestinian terrorists in Gaza have been trying to overwhelm with massive rocket barrages.

Prior to his tweet, Khan denounced the attack against Palestinians by Israel at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
