Notices against Arnab, Kangana: Privileges panel gets more time

Mumbai, Dec 15: The Maharashtra Assembly on Tuesday extended time for the privileges committee to submit its report on breach of privilege notices against Republic TV s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and actress Kangana Ranaut till the last day of the next Legislature session.
Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik submitted the breach of privilege notices against Goswami and Ranaut to the office of the state Assembly speaker on September 7.
Sarnaik had a spat with Ranaut in the past after she compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The MLA had also sought re-opening of an alleged abetment to suicide case of 2018 in which Goswami was arrested by Mumbai Police recently. Goswami is currently out on bail.

Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 15 (ANI): Somia Sadaf, who was born in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is among several female candidates contesting the first-ever District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sadaf is contesting from Drugmulla constituency in Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
She had married a Kashmiri, Abdul Majeed Bhat, a resident of Batargam village of Kupwara when he crossed the border for arms training. However, instead of picking arms, he opted to live a decent life by starting his own business in Muzaffarabad, where he met Sadaf and later married her.
