The government of Pakistan has renewed the licence of state operator PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited) for a further 25 years.
The new validity period began on 1st January 2021. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) confirmed that the integrated licence is technology-neutral and permits the company to deliver all telecom services nationwide, with the notable exception of mobile services.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has renewed its integrated telecom services license with Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) for next 25 years.
PTCL had initiated the renewal process by formally requesting PTA on June 29, 2018. After conclusion of the ongoing discussions, the license is now renewed in accordance with the existing government policies.
PTCL, being the backbone of connectivity in the country, is at the forefront to provide uninterrupted and better quality of services to the people of Pakistan. Seamless and reliable connectivity provided by PTCL is playing a key role in bringing economic and social uplift in the country. PESHAWAR: Condemning the brutal killing of 10 people in Balochistan’s Mach coalfield, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday called upon the federal government to take concrete steps to stop the fresh wave of terrorism in the country.
The resolution unanimously passed by the house also flayed the killing of a youngster by the police in Islamabad and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims of both incidents.
Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani chaired the sitting, which was held after a break of one month.
