May 23, 2021 Share On April 30, during his visit to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a five-year development package for the area. Addressing a ceremony in GB, he announced Rs. 370bn to be spent over five years. Bluffing that he had been waiting a “long time” to bring such a package for GB, he patted his back saying, “bringing a package like this I think is a very big achievement for Pakistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.” The projects under the development package included hydel power generation and local distribution networks, tourism connectivity like Babusar Tunnel, skills trainings, up-gradation of health services, and water, sewerage and sanitation systems as there was great need in Skardu and GB. Skardu Airport infrastructure would now be expanded to cater to international flights as well.

According to Geo News, the opposition leader said that Imran Khan will also flee the country like other lawmakers, including Pakistan former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and former President Pervez Musharraf. Addressing a press conference, Bilawal alleged that Imran Khan is leading the country towards destruction in pursuit of Musharraf s goal . The poverty rate was 50 per cent during the rule of Imran Khan s benefactor dictator Pervez Musharraf, Geo News quoted Bilawal as saying. He further stated that massive loans are being taken from abroad on strict terms which will increase the economic woes of the country. Imran Khan s cabinet is squandering money from the national exchequer.

Afghanistan to host Pakistan in white ball series later this year

(Last Updated On: May 24, 2021) The Afghanistan cricket team will host Pakistan for an ODI and T20 series in the UAE, sources said Sunday. According to Pakistan’s The News, the series will take place in August/September this year and will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 matches. Sources told The News, that the cricket boards of the two countries are currently holding discussions on the matter. In February this year, Afghanistan cricket team member Mohammad Nabi said Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised to allow a cricket series to take place between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
