Islamabad [Pakistan], April 28 (ANI): Amid the devastating third COVID-19 wave in Pakistan, vaccine supplies in private health facilities have run out and the facility chiefs say that they are struggling to obtain more doses from manufacturers in the face of high global demand.
Two privately owned pharmaceutical companies in Pakistan have imported 50,000 doses of Russia s Sputnik V vaccine and 10,000 doses of the Chinese single-dose Convidecia vaccine. These have been fully used at private hospitals and other medical facilities in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to inoculate 35,000 people, reported Arab News.

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has indicated that the federal government might impose a complete lockdown in COVID virus-hit cities and stressed the need for a smooth supply of food items during the lockdown.
The Cabinet meeting presided over by Khan decided that Iran would be asked to export oxygen to Pakistan for COVID-19 patients on a humanitarian basis, Dawn reported.

The government had decided to supply 250 additional tonnes of oxygen to the hospitals.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday indicated that the government might go for complete lockdown in coronavirus-hit cities and stressed the need for smooth supplies of food items during lockdown. The Prime Minister has directed that food supplies should be improved if we go for complete lockdown, said federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry in a press conference after weekly cabinet meeting.
The cabinet meeting, presided over by the Prime Minister, decided that Iran would be asked to export oxygen to Pakistan for Covid-19 patients on humanitarian basis by relaxing the ban the neighbouring country had imposed on oxygen export due to the alarming situation of Covid-19 it was facing, the Dawn reported.
