Imran Khan says that the Opposition doesn’t matter now
Islamabad, Apr 6(UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday directed his spokespersons not to criticise the opposition in the media but instead to concentrate on highlighting his government’s achievements, something which is being seen as a major policy shift.
Khan said this while highlighting the need for implementing proposed electoral and judicial reforms for which the government was likely to invite the opposition for a dialogue, Dawn reported.
A spokesman told Dawn that PM Khan was of the opinion that after the apparent split in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the opposition was no more ‘harmful’ to the government. Therefore the spokespersons should not indulge themselves in any confrontation with the opposition members in the media and TV programmes or in parliament.
Pakistan worried over rising inflation in the country: Survey ANI | Updated: Apr 06, 2021 21:51 IST
Islamabad [Pakistan], April 6 (ANI): A recent survey has put a question mark over the priorities of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as people across the country are fearing uncontrolled inflation .
According to a survey by Ipsos, published in The Express Tribune on Tuesday, two-thirds of respondents in the poll have described the current economic situation in Pakistan as bad with increasing skepticism about any improvement in their conditions. 32 per cent of respondents, inflation was the most worrisome issue, followed by unemployment (20 per cent) and COVID-19 (16 per cent), which showed the poll results. The survey findings also put a question mark over the priorities of Imran Khan, who talked about eradicating corruption more than lessening the economic woes of the people.
