QUETTA, Pakistan, May 5 (Reuters) - Four Pakistani soldiers were killed and six wounded in an ambush by militants from Afghanistan along the border between the two countries on Wednesday, Pakistan s military said.
The soldiers were working on fencing along the border in the Zhob district, an area of Pakistan s Balochistan province, the military said in a statement. Zhob sits across from Afghanistan s eastern Paktika province.
Late on Wednesday the Tehrik-e-Taliban, a banned militant outfit operating along the border, claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement shared with Reuters.

Michael Rubin, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), said the US would no longer need Pakistan’s assistance after the pull-out from Afghanistan.
A former Pentagon official, Rubin is of the view that “Pakistani triumphalism” after America’s exit from the war-torn country and “any subsequent Taliban atrocities will ignite public opinion and lead American politicians to take symbolic action”.

Pakistan s Jamaat-e-Islami will observe the next two Fridays as days dedicated to solidarity with Palestine, the group s Chief Sirajul Haq announced on Thursday.

Anadolu Agency, Haq appealed to the nation and religious scholars to remember Palestinians in their prayers in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. I appeal to Pakistani clerics to highlight Zionist brutalities against the innocent Palestinian Muslims in Friday sermons in mosques and create awareness among the people about the first Qibla of Islam, Haq expressed.

Pakistan has suspended its ambassador to Saudi Arabia following complaints by Pakistani laborers working in the kingdom.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said on April 29 that Ambassador Raja Ali Ijaz has already returned to Pakistan and that six embassy and consular staffers were also being recalled pending an investigation into their work.
The government “attaches high importance to the welfare of overseas Pakistanis,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri told a press briefing in Islamabad, calling them “our greatest asset.”
According to official figures, there are around 2.6 million Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia whose remittances are a huge boost to Pakistan s economy.
