The South Carolina Aquarium says these young otters came to the Aquarium through a Species Survival Plan program coordinated by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. In 2019, after much thought and consideration, the aquarium’s animal care team says they decided to explore the possibility of adding two new family members to their senior otter duo, Ace and Stono.

And be they a collection of cats, dogs, whatever - chances are they can t and shouldn t be kept at your house unless you have room for them. Maybe a farm or a zoo. Ingham County Animal Control officers also found rats, mice, an iguana and about two dozen dogs and cats Wednesday at the house in Lansing, the Lansing State Journal reported. The lizards included geckos and a tegu, which is native to South America, said Animal Control Director Heidi Williams, who described the 22-year-old tortoise as “a pretty good-sized boy.” “We’ve certainly had large-scale animal seizures, but the variety of the animals was a little bit of a curveball for us,” Williams said.

The Ingham County Animal Shelter is asking for donations to help with the care of the animals, especially the cats. “With this number of animals, our care and medical staff is taxed to the limit so we will be closing to cat intakes until further notice,” a Facebook post reads. “If you would like to support the shelter while we deal with this large influx of animals, donations of Purina One Cat Food is appreciated as are monetary donations to help offset the cost of medical care.”
