15 St Lawrence County non-profits sharing $42,298 from #giveNNY campaign

Sunday, May 23, 2021 - 5:40 pm Fifteen non-profit organizations from St. Lawrence County will each have a share of $42,298 raised during the Northern New York Community Foundation’s 2021 #giveNNY campaign. More than 300 individuals, families and businesses, and a Northern New York Community Foundation matching grant, helped the campaign reach the record amount raised which will go to support nonprofits in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties, announced the foundation recently. The St. Lawrence County organizations involved joined a diverse group of 46 others from across the North Country in the month-long campaign that encouraged nonprofits to work together in ways that transcend fundraising, the foundation said in a press release.

Nancy and Michael Griffin to be honored at Potsdam Rotary event

Monday, May 24, 2021 - 10:17 am POTSDAM - The Rotary Club of Potsdam will honor Colton residents Nancy Griffin with the Service Above Self Award and Michael Griffin as a Paul Harris Fellow at its annual dinner on Tuesday, June 8, at the Potsdam Town & Country Club. Taylor Robertson of Parishville will also be installed as 2021-2022 president at the event. Nancy Griffin will be honored with the Service Above Self Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Potsdam community. Michael Griffin will be honored as a Paul Harris Fellow for his demonstrated commitment to the goals and purposes of Rotary and in appreciation of their tangible assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.

POTSDAM — The Potsdam Holiday Fund recently received a $2,000 Gratitude Grant from the Elks National Foundation, thanks to the efforts of the Potsdam Elks Lodge.

Potsdam Holiday Fund receives $1,000 donation from Stewart s Shops

POTSDAM The Potsdam Holiday Fund received a $1,000 donation from Stewart’s Shops through the company’s Holiday Match Program, which benefits children’s organizations directly within the communities where Stewart’s Shops are located. All funds collected from Stewart’s customers, as well as the amount Stewart’s matches, stay in the communities that contributed to the program. In December 2020, the Potsdam Holiday Fund provided warm winter clothing, food and gifts for 186 families, including 475 children and 124 senior citizens living in Potsdam and the surrounding communities. The communities served by the program include Potsdam, Hopkinton, Nicholville, Brasher Falls, Chase Mills, Fort Jackson, West Stockholm and Winthrop.

2021 #giveNNY campaign to culminate in #315Day Monday

WATERTOWN — Sixty-one different organizations joined to participate in the 2021 #giveNNY campaign, a local effort that unites tri-county nonprofits, in a day of giving on “315Day” — Monday, March 15. The campaign, returning for its fourth year, kicked off Feb. 15, and will culminate with a day of radio broadcasts on Tunes 92.5 FM on Monday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. All nonprofits in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties were invited to participate as campaign partners. Agencies coming together to support their work in the north country include, but are not limited to ACR Health, Disabled Persons Action Organization, Indian River Lakes Conservancy, Massena Meals on Wheels, North Country Family Health Center, Potsdam Holiday Fund, St. Lawrence County Arts Council, United Way of NNY, Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County and the Wanakena Historical Association.
