SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) announced that it was terminating its relationship with the Cooper Marsh Conservators (CMC). The CMC are a volunteer organization that has assisted in the operation of the Cooper Marsh Conservation area, which is owned and operated by the RRCA. At issue, is the CMC’s advocacy against a proposed development of land adjacent to Cooper Marsh. Run Guo Investments Canada Ltd./Fotenn Planning + Design petitioned the Township of South Glengarry to rezone land that they own just east of Cooper Marsh to allow for the development of 25 camping sites.

Local Police Address Conservation Area Concerns

Strathroy, ON, Canada / 105.7 Strathroy Today May 13, 2021 | 3:33 PM The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service has recently received concerns from residents and the Manager of the Conservation areas of St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) regarding the Strathroy Conservation area located at 245 Head Street North. Information has been received that people have been attending the area and observed removing plants e.g. ferns from the Conservation area. There was also a complainant of many visitors leaving dog feces and garbage throughout the trails. With the nice weather approaching we are so lucky to have these amazing conservation areas in our community to go for a walk, bike ride or spend time with our families. We need to remember to all work together to respect these areas and keep them clean and safe to use.
