PETERSBURG Virginia Wilson sat down, rolled up her sleeve and waited for her turn in history.
Wilson is one of many Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center workers who got their COVID-19 vaccinations this week, the second full week of implementation.
Because of concerns over social-distancing, the hospital did not allow media outlets inside the vaccination room to witness the shots. But it did, however, provide photographs and statements from those who took the vaccine. It did not hurt, said Wilson, who works in the patient-access division of SRMC s surgical unit. And the nurse was amazing.
Joy Gibson, a medical assistant at the hospital, described the discomfort as, A little pinch, a little burn, but I m feeling perfectly fine.
