As a part of the new national security directive, a list of sources from whom no product can be procured will also be provided to the telecom service providers.
The Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday approved the setting up of a new National Security Directive on telecommunication sector with an intent to classify telecom products and their sources under the ‘trusted’ and ‘non-trusted’ categories.
BSNL launches Rs 199 prepaid plan with 2GB daily data and 30 days validity
The new Rs 199 prepaid plan is part of BSNL s Christmas offer and will go into effect from December 24, 2020. BSNL will also give 3GB daily data as part of the offer on its Rs 998 prepaid plan.

Private telcos are charging at least 25 per cent more for similar data benefit packs
State-owned telecom operator, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reportedly launched a new prepaid voucher worth Rs 199 and is offering 2GB of high-speed daily data per day. It is the only telco currently which is offering 2GB data for under Rs 200; private telecom operators are charging at least 25 per cent more for similar data benefit packs.
The prepaid comes with 30 days of validity and will be effective starting December 24, according to a report in Telecom Talk.
BSNL increases post FUP speed up to 8 times on regular Bharat Fiber broadband plans
BSNL has increased the post FUP speed limit on all regular broadband plans. There is no change in the post FUP speed limit of the promotional Bharat Fibre broadband plans available till December 29, 2020.
