NEW ORLEANS Two 15-year-old boys will be tried as adults for killing an innocent woman who was delivering food to family members.
Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams is breaking his campaign promise to keep kids out of adult court, but he said it s in the best interest of the people of New Orleans.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams says his office will no longer prosecute simple drug possession charges.
Williams testified Monday morning before the New Orleans Councilâs Criminal Justice Committee.
He says thatâs because his goal is to increase safety and deliver justice.
Williams says offenders of drug possession are often suffering from addiction and he believes those people need help, not jail time.
âIf we send them to our diversion program they will report within a month or so of that refusal to a diversion counselor who will assess all of their needs, whether that person has had any trauma, any underlying mental health.
