Syracuse police identify 25-year-old shot in chest, killed on South Side

Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse police say a city man was shot in the chest early Monday and later died at the hospital.
A’salic Parham, 25, of Syracuse, called 911 at 1:44 a.m. and told dispatchers he had been shot, but he did not know where he was, according to police scanner dispatches.
Dispatchers tracked Parham’s cell phone to Evaleen and Pacific avenues. Syracuse police responded and found Parham badly injured, with a gunshot to the chest, at a home in the 200 block of Evaleen Avenue, Syracuse police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Malinowski said.
