Actor Chris Clanton is speaking out after recently surviving a shooting in Baltimore – the crime-plagued city where he appeared in The Wire, a 2002-2008 TV series about the city’s drug trade and other urban ills. A bullet pierced one of his ears and left fragments in his head, Clanton told Baltimore’s FOX 45 about the shooting, which happened around 7 p.m. last Thursday. Clanton said he thought he was going to die. He said the impact from the shot knocked him up against a car.

After an exchange of tweets on Tuesday and finger-pointing over violent crime in Baltimore, Hogan says he is willing to have Scott and Police Commissioner Michael Harrison come to Annapolis for a sit-down meeting about the issue. “We’ve called on the mayor and police commissioner to come down to Annapolis as fast as possible. We want to hear about what type of crime plan they have,” Hogan said Wednesday. “Last time I met with the police commissioner they had a plan that we didn’t like and gave them a lot of suggestions on, which they didn’t listen to.”

Scott has plans and concerns on addressing crime in Baltimore

Larry Hogan, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott checked in with C4 and Bryan Nehman to talk violence in Baltimore, and share some plans he hopes he can implement with state support. One of the ideas Scott said he wants to implement is recreating the criminal justice coordinating council. The council started in 1999 and was defunded in 2017. Hogan has said the group lost focus.  We cannot work to build public safety in Baltimore without all of those agencies at the table, Scott said. Not in a got you kind of way like done in the past, but really about an accountability measure. To make sure we’re all working together. To make sure nobody is slipping through the cracks.
