Bastrop County updates COVID-19 response, burn ban activities
As cases of COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus, continue to increase at an alarming rate in Bastrop County, the county’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is preparing to demobilize and transfer several services related to the disease.
During Monday’s Commissioners Court meeting, Bastrop County Emergency Management Coordinator Christine Files confirmed that the COVID-19 testing location at Ascension Seton Elgin Health Center in Elgin will be closed permanently after Dec. 30.
Until then, both the Ascension Seton testing site and the St. David’s Emergency Center testing site in Bastrop will remain open Monday through Friday.
