Unit 1 – Lauren A. Lustig, a 22-year-old female from Teutopolis, IL – Uninjured
Unit 2 – Jennifer M. Kunzeman, a 36-year-old female from Newton, IL -Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling southbound and was stopped at the intersection of Teutopolis Blacktop Road and Illinois Route 33, Effingham County. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on IL RT-33. Unit 1 attempted to turn left onto eastbound IL RT-33 and was struck as it crossed in front of Unit 2. Unit 2 driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
PRELIMINARY:
A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling west on Interstate 70 near milepost 122 in Cumberland County. Unit 2 was parked on the right shoulder. The driver of Unit 1 left the roadway to the right, striking the right rear of the trailer being towed by Unit 2. The driver and passenger of Unit 1 were pronounced deceased on scene by the Cumberland County Coroner. The driver of Unit 2 was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries. The right lane of the interstate was closed for approximately 7 hours during the crash investigation. This crash is still under investigation and no further information is available.

Unit 2- Connor A. Quick, 26, of Newton, IL
PRELIMINARY: The accident investigation is still ongoing A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 crossed the center of the roadway and struck Unit 2 head on while driving eastbound at the intersection of IL Route 33 and 1650th Street. It is not believed at this time that the intersection played a significant role in the accident. Quick had to be extricated from the vehicle by Teutopolis Fire Department and was flown from the scene by air evac to Carle Foundation Hospital.
DRIVER:
Unit 1 –Isabella P. Marino, a 21-year-old female from Terre Haute, IN – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling west on US Route 40, just east of Marshall. Unit 1 lost traction and crossed over the divided traffic island. Unit 1 struck the guardrail and overturned. The driver of Unit 1 was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
