The police arrested two men for the alleged possession of illegal firearms in two separate instances on Friday.
Police officers attached to the Gelvandale tracing team were driving down Gail Road at 10.25am when they noticed the driver of a passing vehicle appeared to be nervous, repeatedly looking back at the police vehicle.
“The officers followed and stopped the vehicle,” police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said.
“Upon searching the 24-year-old driver they found a 9mm pistol in his possession.”
Harlem Eubank was in court over the incident which occurred on the M23 near Crawley in May. Police stopped the 26-year-old pugilist for speeding in his Mercedes, and for driving the vehicle without insurance. His appearance at court was just weeks before his latest bout against Chris Egbunike in the ring last week. There were no signs that the case had fazed him as Harlem, a cousin of Chris Eubank Junior, also a successful boxer, “dazzled” by winning the fight on December 4. Chris Eubank Junior told British Boxing News about Harlem and his promising career. He said: “We are very close. Harlem is a slick fighter, good foot movement, good speed, one of those all-round fighters.
