Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) rebuked US President Joe Biden over his statement supporting Israel’s right to defend itself amid escalating violence with Hamas, accusing the president of “siding with occupation.” Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, letting him know that Israel has the “unwavering support” of the United States to defend itself. “I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu not too long ago,” said the president. “My expectation and hope is that this will be closing down sooner than later, but Israel has a right to defend itself when you have thousands of rockets flying into your territory.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene Berates AOC In Latest Attack on Democratic Colleagues

Marjorie Taylor Greene is at it again. The Georgia Republican has developed a reputation for aggressively confronting progressive congressional colleagues she disagrees with, and this week reignited her attacks on Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), demanding that AOC agree to debate her on the merits of the Green New Deal. AOC has taken the encounter in stride. On May 13, referencing her career history as a bartender, Ocasio-Cortez said she was used to dealing with Greene’s brand of demeanor. “I used to work as a bartender,” she told Capitol Hill reporters, according to The Hill. “These are the kinds of people that I threw out of bars all the time. For me, this isn’t even about how I feel. It’s that I refuse to allow young women, people of color, people who are standing up for what they believe, to see this kind of intimidation.”

Things Are Getting Very Heated in the House

Share Days after Marjorie Taylor Greene’s verbal assault on her fellow Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, there’s been another incident in the House. Earlier today, California congressman and former presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell was yelled at by a staffer who works for Greene. The kerfuffle was about masks, just a day after the CDC announced fully vaccinated people can skip face coverings in most situations. The Hill‘s Scott Wong tweeted about the interaction between Swalwell and Greene’s communications director, Nick Dyer. Another verbal altercation just happened in the House: MTG’s spokesman Nick Dyer told @RepSwalwell: “Biden says you can take off your mask”
