45 countries join Aman-21 maritime exercise

Top Story February 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Forty-five countries have joined Pakistan’s Aman-21 maritime exercise which President Arif Alvi said is once again a demonstration of the country’s commitment to global cooperation. On Twitter, the President said the naval exercise, was in line with the Government of Pakistan’s vision for regional peace and stability. “Congrats all participants on being part of this flagship event,” the President said. Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear Admiral Naveed Ashraf said around 45 countries have gathered for Aman-21, with one commitment of making seas safer for positive human activities, as the increasing number of participants reflects growing trust in the value of the exercise.

Aman-21 international naval exercise kicks off in Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan Navy kicked off one of the largest naval exercises in the Arabian Sea along with the participation of navies of 45 countries. The opening ceremony, held on Friday at Navy Dockyard in Karachi, was attended by a large number of military representatives, observers and diplomats from participating countries. Strict COVID-19 protocols have been put in place to ensure safety this year. Naval forces from 45 countries, including the US, UK, China, Russia, Turkey as well as several Arab and African countries are participating in the week-long exercise called ‘Aman-21’ (Peace) from February 11-16. The exercise is held every two years since 2007.
