Delaware County’s first COVID-19 vaccine clinic has filled up fast.
Regional Family Health announced Tuesday morning that a clinic would be held Wednesday night at the Neighborhood Retreat in Manchester – and just a half hour later, all of the appointments for the four-hour clinic had already been filled.
The clinic was open to anyone ages 65 and older on a first-come first-served basis, with that age group able to call a hotline number to get signed up. Now that the clinic is filled, there is a voicemail on that hotline indicating as such. They are not taking a waiting list.
Regional Medical Center CEO Charlie Button has announced his resignation due to health issues. RMC released the following press release this morning:

His resignation is a result of personal health challenges Charlie has experienced over the past year. MANCHESTER, Iowa â For the time being, there will be no countywide mask mandate in Delaware County.
County supervisors this week unanimously voted against such a move, which had been requested by the county Board of Health.
County Public Health Coordinator Charity Loecke and other members of the Board of Health were in attendance to make their case for the mandate to slow the spread of COVID-19. Also in attendance were several people opposed to the mandate.
The COVID-19 positivity rate in Delaware County was 14.2% on the day of the meeting. While that was down from a rate of more than 20% earlier this fall, Loecke said it was time for a mandate.
