President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris announced additional members of the office of the Vice President on Friday including Yael Belkind as Assistant to the Chief of Staff and Vincent Evans as Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs
According to a statement by Biden Harris transition team, the appointments demonstrate that the president and vice president-elect are building an administration that looks like America and is ready to deliver results for the American people on day one .

Indian American Sabrina Singh, a long time aide to US Vice President elect Kamala Harris, has been named White House Deputy Press Secretary in the incoming administration, according to a statement released Friday by the Biden-Harris transition team.
Singh was earlier a senior spokesperson on the Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign and National Press Secretary for Cory Booker s presidential campaign.
In roles prior to that, she served as Deputy Communications Director for the Democratic National Committee, Spokesperson for American Bridge s Trump War Room and Regional Communications Director on Hillary Clinton s 2016 presidential campaign. She has also worked at SKDKnickerbocker, served as Communications Director for Rep. Jan Schakowsky and worked at various Democratic committees.
US non-profit sues FBI for info about phone hacking capability

Washington, Dec 24: Non-profit organisation American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is suing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) demanding more information about its capability to gain access to information stored on personal mobile devices. The FBI is secretly breaking the encryption that secures our cell phones and laptops from identity thieves, hackers, and abusive governments, and it refuses to even acknowledge that it has information about these efforts even though some details have been filed publicly in federal court, ACLU said in a statement this week.
The non-profit said that publicly available information indicates that the Electronic Device Analysis Unit (EDAU), a team within the FBI, has acquired or is in the process of acquiring software that allows the government to unlock and decrypt information that is otherwise securely stored on cell phones.
Assin North MP-elect doesn t hold dual citizenship – NDC
The Central Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said the Member of Parliament (MP) elect for the Assin North Constituency, and Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency in the just-ended parliamentary elections, Mr James Joe Quayson, does not hold dual citizenship.
This comes on the heels of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) serving a notice to suggest that it will challenge the legitimacy of the MP-elect as he was not qualified to take part in the December 7 polls.
According to the NPP, the MP-elect holds dual citizenship because he failed to renounce his Canadian citizenship before contesting for the Assin North seat.
