Tanzania-Uganda Road Project to kick-off soon Modified date: The Tanzania-Uganda Road Project linking the two countries in East Africa is set to kick off soon. According to the East African Community (EAC) deputy secretary general (Planning and Infrastructure) Steven Mlote, Funds are currently being mobilized for that purpose. The Tanzania-Uganda roads will cover a total of 252km and will be implemented under the Tanzania-Uganda Road Project being coordinated by the EAC. The Masaka-Mutukula section will cover 89km while the Mutukula-Kyaka section has a length of 30km. Mutukula-Kyaka highway will link to a 133km Tanzanian section from Bugene to Kumunazi via Kasulo in the western regions.

Many of the new projects share the innovative use of digital technologies or space applications, such as satellite imagery, to contribute to sustainable economic growth and climate action in Africa. 6th PIDA Week Opens Virtually to Discuss Infrastructure Development in the New Decade of PIDA Programme

Share: January 19, 2021 The 6th PIDA Week opened virtually on Tuesday under the theme “New decade, new realities, new priorities – positioning PIDA and infrastructure development in Africa’s continued growth and economic recovery”. Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) Week is an annual conference held to accelerate infrastructure implementation on the continent. The 6th PIDA Week which takes place amidst the backdrop of global economic and social uncertainty marks ten years of the implementation of the first PIDA-Priority Action Plan (PIDA-PAP1) and the transition to the Second Phase of the Programme (PIDA PAP II), which will run from 2021-2030.
