COVID-19 cases picking back up in Adair County with 29 reported Monday Kirksville Daily Express Twenty-nine new cases of COVID-19 were reported Monday by the Adair County Health Department. Those cases bring the county to 1,355 total cases, with 133 active. Ten of Monday’s cases are in the skilled nursing sector, and one is in K-12. Seventeen of the cases are located between four addresses with at least one other confirmed case.  A 72-year-old male who was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center on Nov. 26 was placed on a ventilator on Dec. 5. A 62-year-old male was also admitted to NRMC on Dec. 5.

Adair County reports single-day high 42 COVID-19 cases, 3rd death Kirksville Daily Express COVID-19 cases hit a sharp incline on Wednesday, as the Adair County Health Department reported a new single-day high of 42 cases and one death.  A release from the health department said a 72-year-old male who was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center on Nov. 26 passed away Wednesday. He was placed on a ventilator on Dec. 5. That marks the third Adair County death attributed to COVID-19. Wednesday’s cases belong to females ages 7, 14, 19, 23, 34, 36, 44, 47, 51, 53, 55, 58, two age 59, two age 61, 62, 64, 66, 67, 68, 70 and 73. Males are ages 3, 12, 14, 24, 25, 34, two age 36, 41, 45, 55, 59, 60, 62, 67, 68, 71, 77 and 78. Five of Wednesday’s cases are in the K-12 schools sector and one is in the higher education sector, and 21 are in households with at least one other confirmed case.
