One step closer to completing princes highway duplication between Traralgon and Sale
Contracts have been awarded for construction of the final 43 kilometres of the Princes Highway to be duplicated between Traralgon and Sale in eastern Victoria.
To provide more opportunities across the construction industry, the project will be delivered concurrently through a trio of construction partners including Laing O’Rourke, Whelans Group Investments and BildGroup.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the $253.3 million project would duplicate the remaining sections of the Princes Highway East at Flynn and Kilmany and will result in better connections and a safer road while supporting hundreds of jobs.

Important road safety upgrade for Cooma
A new roundabout, additional street lighting and drainage improvements will form part of the safety upgrade to one of Cooma’s busiest intersections.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Australian Government is investing $140 million towards the Safer Roads Program, which includes the work at the intersection of Monaro Highway and Baron Street in Cooma.
“Improving safety on our roads is critically important – even one death or serious injury on our roads is one too many,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
“The Australian Government is serious about driving down death and serious injury on our roads and remains committed to achieving Vision Zero – zero deaths and serious injuries by 2050.

Minister appoints New Leadership Team at CASA 26 April 2021
Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack announced a new leadership team for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority on Saturday.
Experienced government administrator Pip Spence will take on the role of CASA CEO and Director of Aviation Safety (DAS), whilst Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin AC (Retd) will join the board as Chair from August.
