Prayagraj: House owners can heave a sigh of relief as authorities of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) have deferred the collection of hiked monthly house tax rent in view of increasing Covid-19 cases. Senior corporator and PCC member, Mukund Tiwari toldTOI that, “The PMC authorities had earlier mooted a proposal to hike 75 percent in the monthly house tax rent . But,when Working Committee of municipal corporation raised eyebrows over the proposal, it was later decided that there should be maximum 35 percent hike in monthly house tax rent”. However, traders, owners of houses and commercial buildings, coporators and leaders of opposition parties started raising voice over the proposed hike in monthly house tax rent plan and appealed to consider the poor economic activities and rise in the cases of Covid-19 in city. Prayagraj: At a time when the prices of diesel has touched new height in the country, a processing plant has been made operationalised at Sangam city which converts plastic waste into diesel. This is the first such project in the entire state which would convert any kind of plastic waste into fuel.
Being operationalised at the Baswar processing plant of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC), the plant would be operated on the basis of ‘build and operate project’. City mayor, Abhilasha Gupta Nandi inaugurated this plant at Baswar, on Thursday.
Another highlight of the plant is the fact that this plant would run with diesel and gas processed in this plant only.

Prayagraj: Plastic waste takes years to decompose and harms the environment severely. For years, efforts have been made to recycle plastic to minimise harm and environmental degradation. In a similar attempt, a plant has been constructed in Uttar Pradesh that converts plastic waste to fuel.
The plant was inaugurated on Thursday by Prayagraj mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi in Baswar. The plant will be operated by the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Prayagraj: The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) has seized the bank account of Prayag Sangeet Samiti after it failed to clear house tax arrears of Rs 88 lakh.
The municipal corporation had sent a notice to the institution and a notice was also published in newspapers.
“We had issued a public notice, which was also published in the newspapers on January 10, wherein we had mentioned the names, addresses, dues and even the date of attachment of the property of the defaulters. Prayag Sangeet Samiti has to pay Rs 87, 92, 098 to the corporation as house tax. Since they failed to pay, we seized their bank account,” said chief tax officer PMC, PK Mishra. The officers said the drive is yielding good results after the newspaper notice. In case of Prayag Sangeet Samiti too, the corporation had sent a reminder for paying the dues. But when it failed to clear the dues, its account of Bank of Maharashtra located on Leader road was seized, informed Mishra.
