HARTFORD, Conn. - Prosecutors believed justice was served nearly two decades ago when Adrian Peeler was sentenced to a combined 60 years in state and federal prisons for his roles in Bridgeport s cocaine trade and the 1999 killings of an 8-year-old murder trial witness and the boy s mother.

Weston man charged in tow truck driver s death

A Weston man turned himself in to police Friday to face charges in the death of a tow truck driver who was killed in a crash on the Merritt Parkway in April.
Dean Robert, 47, was charged with manslaughter in the death of Corey Iodice, who police said was killed when Robert allegedly lost control of his BMW and struck Iodice, who was on the southbound roadway north of Exit 47 cleaning up an earlier crash.
On April 22, police said Iodice, an employee of Iodice Family Transport in Fairfield, was in the process of loading a disabled Mercedes Benz onto the flatbed of his tow truck.

Federal authorities have charged two Stratford men with car theft offenses after they allegedly led police in a high speed pursuit between Rhode Island and Connecticut in a stolen Porsche earlier this month.
A New Haven federal grand jury returned an indictment charging 21-year-old Christopher Mulkern and 20-year-old Edwin Cordero with one count transportation of a stolen vehicle and one count possession of a stolen vehicle.
Mulkern, also known Chucky, and Cordero would go to upper middleclass neighborhoods to go “car-checking” or “jigging” checking the doors of parked vehicles to see if they were locked, a press release from the U.S. attorney’s office said.
