Superstore Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19, More Cases in Cowichan Tribes

Cowichan Tribes is now reporting 39 cases of COVID-19 in 19 households.
A shelter-in-place order has been issued and it will remain in effect until January 22nd.
Cowichan Tribes’ Acting General Manager Derek Thompson said you can leave your home, but only for very specific reasons.
“All residents and members may only leave their homes for work, school, medical appointments, to obtain groceries, medicines, and other essential items, or to care for a family member who is ill,” said Thompson. “Residents may also go outside alone or with people from their household for fresh air, exercise, time in nature, or walking your pets. Don’t gather socially.”
