Connie Vargo, mother of 6-year-old murder victim, demands justice for her son and responds to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón s policy agenda.
Massachusetts authorities said this week they have identified at least one of the suspects involved in the 30-year-old cold casemurder of a professional gambler, according to reports.
The Massachusetts State Police Unresolved Cases Unit and the the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office’s Cold Case Unit, with help from the FBI, said it was able to match a fingerprint on a plastic bag used to suffocate Howard Ferrini, 53, in August 1991. TAUNTON On the afternoon of Aug. 14, 1991, 53-year-old professional gambler Howard Ferrini was spending his time the way he often did during the summer hanging out with his friends at the Raynham dog track.
Around 4 p.m., Ferrini told them he was leaving and would be back in a few hours, as he was excited about participating in a sweepstakes that was planned for later that evening.
It was the last time Ferrini s friends would ever see him.
Now, nearly 30 years later, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn s office says it has at least partially cracked the cold case of Ferrini’s murder.
TAUNTON Authorities in Massachusetts say they have figured out at least one of the people responsible for the disappearance and killing of a professional gambler nearly 30 years ago.
Berkley resident Howard Ferrini, 53, was last seen by his friends at the Raynham dog track in August 1991. His body was found in the trunk of his car in a parking lot at Logan Airport a few days later.
The Cold Case Unit of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, with help from Massachusetts State Police and the FBI, matched fingerprints on a bag used to suffocate Ferrini to Kevin Hanrahan.
According to the DA’s office, Hanrahan was shot to death in 1992.
