Covid-19: Brazil reported over 2,000 new deaths
Brasilia, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Brazil´s Covid-19 death toll reached 272,889 following a new report of 2,233 deaths in 24 hours, its second straight day reporting over 2,000 deaths a day, Brazil´s government said. Brazilian Ministry of Health´s daily briefing also said that as many as 75,412 cases were reported in the same period, so overall figure amounted to 11,277, 717 since the first case was reported in February 2020.
On Thursday, Brazil set a daily record of Covid-19 deaths by reporting 2,286 from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Brazil´s Health Ministry also pointed out that Sao Paulo reported 63,010 deaths and 2,164,066 positive cases.

A second wave of Covid-19 is ripping through Brazil, pushing hospitals and ICUs toward collapse and claiming record numbers of daily deaths.
While a new variant of the coronavirus spreads throughout the country, many Brazilians continue to defy mask mandates mobility restrictions following the example of President Jair Bolsonaro, who recently said people need to stop being sissies and whining about the virus.
