We lead with a story broken by CLARO and Cambiemos of the mounting evidence of a manoeuvre being prepared to rush through approval by Orihuela Town Hall of a revised plan to enable building of 1500 new homes on Cala Mosca, the last remaining unspoilt green land on the coast of Orihuela Costa.
They fear that that the head of Urban Planning and leader of the Ciudadanos party is circumventing procedures as he prepares a quick vote on a modified plan which would give a final green light to the developer to go ahead with the construction of 1500 new homes on this last kilometre of natural green land on the Orihuela Costa.

Death of Mary Priddle, founding member of Crescendo International Choir
Mary Priddle, a founding member of Crescendo International Choir, passed away after a heart attack. She died Monday March 8 in Plymouth, England. Mary had just returned to her native England for health-related reasons in January and was living near her daughter Kelly. Mary started Crescendo International Choir in 2004 after moving to Torrevieja.
Previous choir director Chas Smith had this to say about Mary. “Without Mary there would have been no Crescendo. It was Mary’s idea and I remember going to Mary’s home that first time when we discussed setting up a new mixed voice choir.

Crescendo International Choir members sang Christmas carols together on Saturday, December 12th at the outdoor patio of Rincon de Miquel, a lovely restaurant and bar in Los Montesinos. Choir members dressed up in holiday costume and sat together in a socially-distanced manner. We wore masks and sang a variety of popular Christmas songs and carols.
Despite operating under the current pandemic restrictions, we still enjoyed ourselves. Near the end of our singing, choir members stopped to say a fond farewell to founding member Mary Priddle. Mary helped start Crescendo Choir back in 2004. She has now decided it is a good time to return to her native England. Mary received a gift and flowers from the choir and said thank you to all the members, with much emotion in her voice.
