According to the B.C. Ministry of Health, there were 742 new cases of the disease reported provincewide between Friday and Monday with Interior Health having more cases than the far-more-populous Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions combined, with 395 cases compared to 280. One person died of COVID-19 over the weekend.

In an effort to get people who have not been vaccinated into clinics, the province is offering jabs on a walk-in basis on Wednesday. Usually, the health authority clinics require reservations. The ministry has set aside 20,000 doses of Pfizer and Moderna for the walk-in vaccination push, which will be followed by vaccine outreach using mobile and pop-up clinics.

There were 395 new cases in Interior Health for a total active case count of 847.
The BC Ministry of Health released the updated COVID-19 numbers following the BC Day Longweekend.
As of Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, 81.4% (3,773,442) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 67.3% (3,121,311) received their second dose.
In addition, 82.3% (3,560,982) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 69.7% (3,013,074) received their second dose.
Over a four-day period, B.C. is reporting 742 new cases of COVID-19, including two epi-linked cases, for a total of 150,631 cases in the province:

B.C. health officials announced 243 new cases of COVID-19 but no additional deaths on Friday, the highest daily case count since May 29. The seven day rolling average of new cases has now tripled within the last 10 days.
In a written statement, the B.C. Ministry of Health said there are currently 1,231 active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C., more than double what they were a week ago.
